Bijon the Salon is located in the heart of the historical district of Mt. Vernon in downtown Baltimore City. The owner and Senior Image Consultant, Shantia Fenwick has been in the beauty industry for 18 years now and has been an educator for 15 years. In April 2006 Shantia hit another milestone in her career and opened the Bijon the Salon
The Style...
When Bijon opened its doors Grant Jackson (senior stylist for over 25 years) and Shantia realized that there would be great challenges ahead and getting the word out would be the biggest one of all. After a few open houses, charity work door to door, and other resourceful methods the team soon started to grow the communitys awareness that they were without question the diamond in the rough.
Although Bijon has a European look and feel it still captures every aspect of the culture within historic Mt. Vernon. The furniture was costumed designed for each space through the facility and imported from Italy. When you first walk in even the music reflects American cultures as a whole from techno to jazz, R&B to alternative, blues to pop, its clear that although the stylist are largely African American the ambience and experience is established to service everyone, diamond in the rough indeed.

It also helps to know that the licensed stylist/professional consultants are knowledgeable of all hair textures and regularly researches new techniques to stay valuable to the ever changing beauty industry. Hair care is definitely the top priority; the image consultants at Bijon specialize in precision cutting, custom hair coloring, and have become especially popular for our seamless weavesblending in effortlessly with your own hair textures. The hair is often imported from outside of the US to ensure the best quality weaving used by the industries best. Bijon has one of the highest retention rates with their customers in the area. Why? In the beauty industry for 15 years, Tarsha received her training with Ron Thomas Beauty School and continue her edcatuion at Dudley Beauty School college of Baltimore MD. she worked in serveral salon and spa. the former owner of Cuts and Curls Beauty Salon of Baltimore. Now a member of the Bijon family.
