Bijon the Salon is located in the heart of the historical district of Mt. Vernon in downtown Baltimore, MD. Shantia Fenwick is the owner and Senior Image Consultant with a presence in the beauty industry for 18 years and an educator for 15 years. In April 2006, Shantia accomplished another milestone in her career and opened Bijon the Salon. Shantia has established Bijon the Salon as a go-to for hair care locale with a European aesthetic flare.

When Bijon the Salon opened its doors, Grant Jackson (senior stylist for over 25 years) and Shantia realized that there would be great challenges ahead and getting the word out would be the biggest one of all. After a few open houses, door-to-door charity work, and other resourceful methods, the team’s marketing strategy increased the community’s awareness and signaled that their tireless work meant that without question – they were the diamond in the rough.
Bijon the Salon has a European look and feel that succeeds at capturing every aspect of the culture within historic Mt. Vernon. Custom-designed furniture imported from Italy, adorns the space. As you enter, even the music reflects various American cultures and sets the mood from techno to jazz, R&B to alternative, and blues to pop. Additionally, the experienced mostly African American stylists set the tone that they are available to welcome and service everyone.

Experienced, licensed stylist/professional consultants are knowledgeable of all hair textures and regularly researches new techniques in order to further enhance the Bijon the Salon experience in an ever changing beauty industry. Hair care is a top priority; the image consultants at Bijon the Salon specialize in precision cutting, custom hair coloring, and seamless weave blending. Our premier weave blending service includes hair, often imported from outside of the U.S., to ensure the best quality weaving results. As the newest member of the Bijon the Salon family, Tarsha is happy to join the team. Experienced in the beauty industry for 15 years, Tarsha received her training with the Ron Thomas Beauty School and continued her education at the Dudley Beauty School College of Baltimore, MD. She has worked in several salons and spas. Additionally, she was the former owner of Cuts and Curls Beauty Salon in Baltimore.
